Missions Opportunity

Our Mission Committee has approved a mission project in San Jose, Costa Rica. The projects entails the renovation of a kitchen in the Community Church pastored by Carlos Cunningham. Carlos and his wife Karla are long term missionaries who oversee a Prison Ministry in the Prison System of Costa Rica. This year our church has financially helped support that Ministry through VOLNA, the fund raising entity located in Huntsville and supported by several large churches in North Alabama. With my family, I went on a mission trip to participate with Carlos and Karla in their ministry this past June. I recognized their church kitchen was in bad need of a total renovation to better serve their needs to the community served by them. With the approval of our Mission Committee, we need to organize a team of 6 to 8 persons with carpentry skills to carry out the task over a 5 day period. Anyone is welcomed even if unskilled to help out. The cost of the project is estimated at $4,000.00 with $3,100 to be provided by our church and $900.00 by their church. All supplies will be secured and provided for the project with a local construction worker to oversee. The cost for each person going on the trip will be $1,200.00 which includes lodging, food, local transportation. Airfare is separate and estimated from $800.00 to $1,100 per person. Currently we are looking at March 2024 for the trip. Please pray and considering joining us to be the hands and feet of Jesus for the members of this community church.
